Dear Troop 4 Eagle Scout,
We invite you to return to Troop 4 and Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church to join us as we dedicate an Eagle Scout Honor Wall installation that recognizes the 200+ Scouts who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout since 1957. The first Troop 4 Eagle Scout earned his rank in 1962, our 100th in 2004, and earlier this year in 2021 our 200th Eagle Scout was approved by the Eagle Scout Board of Review.
The Eagle Scout Honor Wall Dedication Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 2nd at 2:00 pm (rain or shine) in the outdoor sanctuary behind Tyson Hall.
Troop 4 is very proud of all its Eagle Scouts. You represent the best of Scouting and embody the values of the Scouting program. Troop 4 is one of a very few Troops to have graduated over 200 Eagle Scouts. Knowing that only a small percentage of Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle makes this accomplishment even more remarkable. We know that you share our pride.
Together, you and your fellow Troop 4 Eagle Scouts earned over 5,000 merit badges and provided more than 20,000 hours of community service through your Eagle Scout projects. You were able to experience the full scope of the Scouting program with its many outdoor opportunities, life lessons, and friendships that you formed during your years at Troop 4.
The Troop Committee designed the Eagle Scout Honor Wall to recognize your accomplishment and inspire future Scouts to reach Eagle. VHUMC has permanently allocated a 20 foot space in the Fellowship Hall where the professionally built Eagle Scout Honor Wall installation will be displayed. Your name is individually engraved along with the year of attaining the rank of Eagle. We look forward to adding the names of future Troop 4 Eagle Scouts in the years ahead.
Finally, we ask that you consider helping Troop 4 to cover the $5,000 cost of the Eagle Scout Honor Wall so that this cost does not impact the Troop’s activity budget. A contribution form with additional information is attached to this letter.
We hope that you will be able to join us on May 2nd, at 2pm.

Eagle Scout Honor Wall Contribution Form
Troop 4 requests your help in funding the $5,000 cost of the Eagle Scout Honor Wall.
We are grateful for contributions in any amount. There are many ways that you can assist Troop including:
Honor an Eagle Scout ($50). Contributions in this amount will help cover the cost of the Eagle Scout Honor Wall and honor an Eagle Scout. Honor yourself, your son, or any Troop 4 Eagle.
Support the Scouting program at Troop 4 ($100 or more). Includes the Honor an Eagle Scout contribution and will boost the annual program budget of Troop 4.
Enhance the Scouting Opportunities at Troop 4 ($500 or more). Includes the Honor an Eagle Scout contribution and will help Troop 4 deliver the fullest range of Scouting opportunities.
